A Brief history of time:
Writing was never a passion to me. I have been a "speaking" guy all the while. I was never able to pinpoint the reason as to why I was not inclined to write. Maybe I felt too bored to put my thoughts in a page hosted by "unknown” server on a black-hole sort of World Wide Web or maybe I was afraid of being ridiculed by all and sundry who would read my blog.
I even desisted posting on news websites expressing my opinion on issues. I rather chose to make my better-half (MBF from now on) a listener to my views on anything and everything. She listened patiently for more than 2 years till now on topics ranging from Why Indian education sucks to why we should NOT send a rocket to the moon and not to mention the nuclear deal - which has had tongues wagging for the last few months.
A little over a month ago:
After being with me on my one-on-one discourses for so long, MBF suggested, to blog -right after my outburst on Bastardisation on News channels.
Note: I maintain that this was to find a better channel for my path breaking thoughts rather than what the family suggested as “to stop eating their heads”.
Now, back to my conversation with MBF. I quipped, "Nah" and added “blogging is for nerds”. She retorted " What does it make one after being in the IT industry for 6 years and more ".
A valid point at that. I grudgingly gave full marks to her on this count. She has a knack of being right and I suspect all women become all “right”, sooner or later. Need to ask a few more people.
Present tense:
To proceed with this new found (Heh!! I should say ordered) hobby, I did a trial run, to check if my skills at writing will be accepted in the virtual world. I posted a few comments here and there on news sites, blogs and even occasional movie reviews all the while expecting brickbats and maybe a occasional “well said” thingy. To my surprise my comments were appreciated a lot more than I had expected. This was a good start.
Future tenser:
Buoyed by my success, I got myself an account with blogger.com. I read a few blogs to see “how the deed is done”. After being assured that I can just do it, here I am jabbing my fingers at a keyboard, going tickety-tick-tock with a new enthusiasm of conquering the blogging space.
This piece, the one you are seeing right NOW, is my first official blog.
